New WHO Toolkit Focuses on Severe Acute Respiratory Infection

December 15, 2023The Honorary Fellowship of Indian Association of Respiratory Care (FIARC) was awarded to 9 prominent figures of the society. The Fellowship was conferred during RESCARE 2022, the 15th National Conference of Indian Association of Respiratory Care, held at Kochi on the 2nd & 3rd of December 2022.
FIARC is awarded to the prominent professionals who significantly contribute to the field of Respiratory Care profession in India and the growth of the society.
This year’s FIARC recipients are:
Dr. Jerry Paul, MD, DA, FIARC — Professor of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre; and the President of the Indian Association of Respiratory Care.
Mr. Arthur Sadhanandham, Dip.RT, FIARC — Senior Respiratory Therapist (Rtd). CMC Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India; and served as the General Secretary of the Indian Association of Respiratory Care.
Mr. T. Narasimha Murthy, Dip.RT, FIARC — Senior Respiratory Therapist at the Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, India; and served as an Executive Board member of the Indian Association of Respiratory Care.
Ms. Anitha Patil, PGDip. RT, FIARC — Senior Respiratory Therapist at the Yeshodha Hospital, Hyderbad-India; and served as an Executive Board member of the Indian Association of Respiratory Care.
Dr. Saumy Johnson MSc RT, PhD, FIARC — Associate Professor in the Department of Respiratory Care at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Kerala-India, and she was the General Secretary of IARC. Currently serves as the Section Editor at the Indian Journal of Respiratory Care (IJRC)
Dr. Manjush Karthika PhD, PDF, FISQua, FIARC — Program Director and Assistant Professor of Respiratory Care in the Department of Health and Medical Sciences at Khawarizmi International College, United Arab Emirates; Chair of the Indian Academy of Respiratory Care
Ms. Madhuragauri Shevade, MScRT, RRT, PhD, FIARC — Associate Editor in Chief of the Indian Journal of Respiratory Care. She is the Vice President of the Indian Association of Respiratory Care.
Dr. Jithin K Sreedharan MScRT, FISQua, PhD, FIARC — Lecturer at the Prince Sultan Military College of Health Sciences, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Governor for India at the International Council for Respiratory Care; and General Secretary of Indian Association of Respiratory Care.
Mr. Sriharsha Tatineni, RRT, PGDHHM, FIARC — Senior Respiratory Therapist at SEHA, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Served as Executive Board member of the Indian Association of Respiratory Care and currently the Associate Vice President of IARC.
Dr Vijaykumar Retnavelu, from Hyderabad, the First President of the then Association of Respiratory Care of India (ARCI), was conferred as the first IARC Honorary Fellow during the Convocation held in 2021. Since then, 17 prominent leaders, including the 9 chosen this year, have been honoured with the Honorary Fellowship of the Indian Association of Respiratory Care.
Another highlight of the event was the recognition of Fellowship awardees of Adult Critical Care; FARC-ACC. Two fellows successfully completed the FARC-ACC course during the period of 2020-2021. Ms Ramitha Ramachandran, BSRT, FARC-ACC is the first candidate completed the Fellowship and Mr. Joshua David BSRT, FARC-ACC from Chennai being the second. FARC-ACC is the collaborative academic Fellowship of Indian Association of Respiratory Care and the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine.
