September 25, 2013An ambitious project in Japan over the last two and one half years has been directed at providing young Japanese physicians with International Education Recognition System (IERS) approved programs on mechanical ventilation theory and practice. These programs, under the direction of Dr. Kazunao Watanabe, Governor for Japan to ICRC, and sponsored by the Japanese Association for Respiratory Care (JARC), have been in high demand and well received by the physician community. The quality and outreach of these seminars have had a far-reaching effect on the knowledge level and clinical practice of hundreds of physicians. Over the course of 12 programs, 300 physicians have benefited from these high quality programs. The project has met it objectives and will assist in improving the quality of care for patients in Japan. Dr. Watanabe and his team will be reporting at the AARC 59th International Congress in Anaheim at the ICRC Business Meeting on the outcome data and qualitative analysis measured over the course of these learning experiences.
