Please accept my thanks to all attendees representing 21 countries to the ICRC Business Meeting held November 18, 2013 in Anaheim, California. In addition, I would like to express my appreciation to those Governors who submitted their formal country reports even though they were unable to participate in the Anaheim meeting. This was one of the Council’s most forward looking and successful meetings with a number of important developments. I invite you to read through this issue of the ICRC eNewsletter designed to highlight some of the Council’s business actions and to bring other areas of interest to the attention of the international Respiratory Care community.

Elsewhere in this edition you will read of the unanimous acceptance of Norway as the 27th country member of the ICRC and the addition of two outstanding Governors for Norway elected to the Council. The Council also elected Sam P. Giordano, MBA, RRT, FAARC, as a Governor At Large to the ICRC and Daniel Rowley, MSc, RRT, NPS, FAARC as the ICRC Director of Communication. Another significant action item was the unanimous recognition and endorsement by the ICRC of both the Latin American Board for Professional Certification in Respiratory Therapy and the National Board for Respiratory Care, USA.
