December 30, 2015During the AARC International Reception on November 9, 2015 in Tampa, Florida, Lonny J. Ashworth, MEd, RRT, FAARC accepted the Toshihiko Koga, MD, International Achievement Medal.
Professor Ashworth accepts the Koga Medal at the International Reception at the AARC Congress
For more than two decades, Professor Ashworth has followed in the spirit of Dr. Koga and worked in close cooperation with the Japanese Respiratory Care Network. He has delivered hundreds of lectures and interactive clinical skill training sessions to physicians, RTs, nurses, clinical engineers and other health care professionals throughout Japan. He is the long-time Professor and Chair of the RT Department at Boise State University, and is a Fellow of the AARC. Professor Ashworth is an Honored Faculty Member having received the Provost’s Excellence Awards for Research, Advising and Service. In addition to hundreds of international presentations, he has been awarded numerous research grants; and he continues with his research interests in the areas of mass casualties, work of breathing and mechanical ventilation. Of course, this is all in addition to his extensive work in Japan in honor of Dr. Koga.
