The AARC’s International Committee received and reviewed 32 applications from healthcare providers from around the world who were considered for participation in the 2013 International Fellowship program, which provides selected individuals with an opportunity to visit the United States to observe respiratory care academic programs and clinical practice in a variety of patient care settings. AARC President George Gaebler, MEd, RRT, recognized the following individuals as 2013 AARC International Fellows during the Association’s 59th International Respiratory Convention and Exhibition awards ceremony in Anaheim, California, in November.
During the International Council for Respiratory Care’s scheduled business meeting that occurred during the AARC Congress, each International Fellow delivered a presentation that included details such as who performs respiratory care procedures in their country, how clinicians are trained to deliver respiratory care, what they valued most about the fellowship experiences that were provided by assigned U.S. City Hosts prior to attending the convention, and what they information they intend to take back with them in an effort to improve respiratory care in their home country.
