On behalf of the International Council for Respiratory Care (ICRC), I would like to thank all of our readers for their comments and suggestions following the last issue of the Newsletter. Your ideas are most welcome and we certainly appreciate those of you who made the extra effort to contribute to the international development of respiratory care. We thank the many readers who have taken time to submit articles and materials to the Newsletter.
Before we begin an overview of this issue I would like to take the opportunity to make an important scheduling announcement: namely that the ICRC Annual Business Meeting in 2016 will be held two months earlier than usual. I invite all to attend the Annual ICRC Meeting held in conjunction with the AARC’s 62nd International Respiratory Convention & Exhibition, October 15-18, in San Antonio, TX. The Council looks forward to your participation!
I hope you enjoy reading about the selected activities, accomplishments, and opportunities of your international colleagues. This issue of International Respiratory News, the official electronic newsletter of the ICRC, covers a range of topics, including the latest developments in the Haiti Project supported by volunteer Registered Respiratory Therapists from the U.S. at Hôpital Sacré Coeur, the West China Medical School of Respiratory Therapy’s bachelor degree program at Sichuan University in China, the IERS-approved Cairo, Egypt, Neonatal Respiratory Care Conference, and the Respiratory Therapy Society of the Republic of China’s Annual Meeting and celebration of Respiratory Care Week in Taiwan.
You’ll also find the 2016 AARC/ARCF International Fellow and City Host application announcements.
